Bowdoin College men’s ice hockey player Brendan Reich (Montvale, N.J.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week. The junior defenseman netted three goals and an assist to lead the Polar Bears to a key 2-0-0 showing on the road and sole possession of first place in the conference standings with two games left in the regular season. ABC News: George Mitchell ’54 and Bowdoin Honored With NCAA’s Top Award
Former U.S. Senator and Bowdoin College graduate George Mitchell ’54 accepted the Theodore Roosevelt Award on Friday evening, January 15, at the 2010 NCAA Convention’s Honors and Delegates Celebration. The highest honor bestowed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Mitchell is the second Bowdoin recipient of the award, joining William Cohen ’62, and putting the College in distinguished company.
