Founding Principles: Your Civil Rights Explained

Founding Principles Chapter 14: Civil Rights from Bowdoin College on Vimeo.

With just five short days until the election, our daily look at the Founding Principles series brings us to “Chapter 14: Civil Rights.”

As narrator and government professor Andrew Rudalevige explains, all kinds of committed actors have pushed us to broaden our view of who is included in the Declaration of Independence claim, “all men are created equal” — and he is quick to point out “all” means all, and not just men.

  1. This series is fabulous. Thank you so much for creating it and having it available to all. I am hoping that Professor Rudalevige will be able to be a guest speaker on Civil Rights at one of our future events at the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. Thank you again!
