There will be an exhibition of paintings by New Orleans-based artist James Michalopolous ’74 at the St. Tammany Art Association in Covington, Louisiana, Sept. 10–Oct. 1, 2016.  Michalopoulos at the Art House features nearly twenty of his paintings, writes Sarah Bonnette on the NOLA.com news site.

Michalopolous is known for creating “an abundance of texture in his often large-scale oil paintings” through the use of a palette knife. Michalopoulos said he favors the knife “because it allows decisive and rapid action.” A government major from Pennsylvania, Michalopoulos moved to New Orleans after graduation.
