Maine is “only a hop, skip, and a jump away from the North Pole,” writes Mia Bennett, a PhD candidate in UCLA’s geography department, is researching the transportation infrastructure and natural resource development in the post-Cold War Arctic.

Bennett spoke on campus April 13 at the invitation of the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum. Bennett writes of her visit to Bowdoin—and of Maine’s links to the Arctic—in her blog, Cryopolitics.
