Softball —
 The Bowdoin softball team held off a late push by visiting Trinity to open the NESCAC series with a 5-3 win on Friday evening. Also, Bowdoin first-year Caroline Rice (Santa Ana, Calif.) has been named among 24 finalists for the inaugural Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year. Rice has been the most dominant offensive force in the NESCAC this spring, batting .510 in 31 games, collecting a league-best 14 doubles with three home runs and reaching base at a conference-high .546 clip.

Baseball — Tim Superko tossed eight strong innings, striking out 13, as the Tufts University baseball team held off a late Bowdoin rally to earn a 4-3 win in the opener of a three-game NESCAC East Division series between the teams on Friday afternoon.
