Bowdoin Students Demonstrate Asian Language Skills

Bowdoin students have been showing off their Asian language skills, winning prizes at separate Japanese and Chinese language contests in Boston over the past two weekends. They dominated the Japanese Language Contest April 9 organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Boston, taking four of nine prizes. Bowdoin also sent students for the first time to the Chinese Bridge Speech contest April 16 organized by UMass Boston’s Confucius Institute. Two students were honored at that event, with one of them selected as a cultural ambassador to visit China at the end of next month.
