Portland’s ‘The Holy Donut’ Amid Country’s 10 Best Doughnut Shops (Fodor’s)

On the Monday after Easter, when many people are already coming down off a chocolate-bunny-and-jelly-bean-infused sugar high comes Fodor’s list of the “10 Best Doughnut Shops in the U.S.

Included in this decadent compilation is Portland’s own The Holy Donut, which uses Maine potatoes in each one of its creations.

  1. Chet Freeman says:

I haven’t been to the Holy Donut, but Brunswick has a place with the best donuts not only in the US, but in the world: Frosty’s on Maine Street, or at least their plain ones are, which is all I ever get except occasionally a chocolate glazed. They are so much better than the long lost, old actual dunking Dunkin Donut that I no longer miss them.
