The Wilson Center recently invited Olufemi Vaughan, Bowdoin’s Geoffrey Canada Professor of Africana Studies and History, to join a panel of scholars and analyze the recent historical election in Nigeria. For the first time since the return to civilian rule in 1999, the opposition defeated the ruling party’s presidential candidate.
