Meg Robbins ’17 receives the award from NENPA President Peter Haggerty.

Meg Robbins ’17, a sophomore at Bowdoin College, has received a first-place award for arts and entertainment reporting from the New England Newspaper and Press Association.

The award recognizes a story she wrote while she was a news intern last summer at the Vineyard Gazette, a weekly newspaper on Martha’s Vineyard. Robbins wrote about the professional whistler Geert Chatrou, the subject of a documentary film, Pucker Up: the Fine Art of Whistling, by Vineyard filmmakers Kate Davis and David Heilbroner.

Robbins is the news editor for The Bowdoin Orient.
