Too Cold for Lincoln Park Zoo’s Polar Bear (Chicagoist)

With Chicago recently reporting temperatures colder than those of even Mars, extreme steps need to be taken. David L. Simmons ’96 tipped us off that the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Polar Bear, Anana, had to be moved to more comfortable environs. As Chicagoist reports, Polar Bears in the wild would typically put on a layer of fat blubber to protect themselves from the cold, but not so our Windy City bear. The website includes this footage of Anana frolicking in more agreeable conditions:
