Saturday Scoreboard: Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Heading to NESCAC Title Games

Men’s Ice Hockey — Danny Palumbo scored a pair of first-period goals to lead the Bowdoin College men’s ice hockey team to a 4-2 win over Middlebury in the NESCAC Semifinals Saturday afternoon at Watson Arena. The top-seeded Polar Bears improve to 21-3-2 on the season and advance to the NESCAC title game for the third time in the last four years and sixth time overall. Bowdoin will face Williams in the NESCAC Championship game at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Watson Arena. There are a limited number of tickets that will be available at the door beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday. Tickets will be $5 for adults and $2 for children. Bowdoin student tickets are free with ID.

Women’s Ice Hockey — Meanwhile in Middlebury, VT, the Bowdoin women’s ice hockey team skated into the NESCAC finals after defeating Amherst 3-1. The Polar Bears (20-4-2) will make their sixth finals appearance—and first since 2006—on Sunday when they face Middlebury at 2:00 p.m. on the Panthers’ home ice. Track & Field — A trio of school records fell as the Bowdoin track teams competed at the ECAC Track & Field Championship this weekend at the Armory in New York City.
