It is a great pleasure to hear that Dr. Douglas Brown will be inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame. It is an honor he richely deserves. Doug was the chief physician for Skate America International Figure Skating Competition held and televised in Portland, Maine. He supplied and created an outstanding medical facility at the Civic Center, staffed it with a wonderful dedicated team , co- ordinated services with rescue personnel and hospitals, was available night and day and “brave” enough to do this event twice! Doug took volunteerism to a new level!!
The United States Skating Association, The Skating Club of Maine (SAM), and the Skate America Organinizing Committee offer their congratulation to to the Maine Sports Hall of Fame on their induction of Dr. Douglas Brown.
