On Raising a Child: 10 Rules from Susan Sontag (Atlantic)

The second volume of Susan Sontag’s diaries, As Consciousness Is Harnessed to Flesh: Journals and Notebooks, 1964-1980, was published earlier this year.

The celebrated American essayist and political activist’s first volume, Reborn: Journals and Notebooks, 1947-1963, included not only list of “rules + duties for being 24,” but her 10 rules for raising a child, which include the importance of routine, consistency and speaking well of the other parent.
