Saturday Scoreboard: Polar Bear Lacrosse Opens With Two Wins at Conn

Men’s Lacrosse: Patrick Lawlor scored a pair of goals and Chris Williamson made ten saves to lead the Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse team to a 7-5 win over Connecticut College in its season debut on Saturday afternoon.

Women’s Lacrosse: The Bowdoin College women’s lacrosse team sprinted to a 3-0 lead and never trailed in an 11-6 season-opening win over Connecticut College Saturday afternoon at Ryan Field. The Polar Bears (1-0), ranked fourth nationally, have won their last nine home games dating back to last March.

A growing list of big-time advertisers are walking away from talk radio in the wake of Rush Limbaugh’s controversial remarks about a Georgetown University student. As reported Saturday in The Daily Beast, companies like Subway, Ford, McDonald’s, Toyota, and Geico are now wary of programs that can be deemed “offensive or controversial.”
