440 Degrees Awarded at Bowdoin’s 206th Commencement

Bowdoin held its 206th Commencement Saturday, May 28, 2011, awarding 440 bachelor of arts degrees to students from 38 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and 10 foreign countries. The ceremony featured addresses by President Barry Mills and student speakers Joelinda Coichy ’11 and Edward Gottfried ’11.

    Congratulations to the Class of 2011! Commencement is always a special event. I couldn’t help but remember, however, the announcement published just a short time ago that stated 443 degrees were to be awarded on Saturday. What happened to those three graduates in such a short amount of time?
