Elevation appears to be a motivator for virtuous behavior. A recent article in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology suggests a strong correlation between good behavior (generosity, empathy, cooperation) and height of one’s location. So, the next time you’re running a bake sale at the mall, set up your table at the top to catch people exiting the upside and you won’t be let down.
