Juilliard Names Bowdoin Festival Co-Founder Kaplan to Schuman Chair

Bowdoin International Music Festival founder Lewis Kaplan, a distinguished member of The Juilliard School’s violin and chamber music faculties, has been named the 2011 recipient of the William Schuman Scholar’s Chair. The festival was founded in 1964 by Kaplan and Bowdoin College Professor of Music Robert K. Beckwith.
