Dec. 21: First Day of Winter, Hamburger, Bright Side Day (Time)

As the first day of winter, December 21 is also, appropriately enough, National Look at the Bright Side Day, which comes in handy as we weigh the onslaught of cold, wintry weather against the fact that the days will get longer from here on out. Regarding the former, doctors say sudden cold fronts mean more heart attacks. On the bright side, provided it’s OK with your cardiologist, today is also one of three National Hamburger Days on the calendar (the others are July 28 and May 29). Please celebrate responsibly.
