Saturday Scoreboard

Men’s Ice Hockey: It’s tough to think of a more exciting chapter in the storied Bowdoin-Colby rivalry than the one that was recorded Saturday night before 2,300 fans at Watson Arena and more than 3,000 who watched online, as the Polar Bear Men’s Ice Hockey Team took a 2-1 overtime decision in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. Bowdoin (18-5-1) will host the NESCAC Final Four next weekend. Ticket information is available here.

The game was delayed by 20 minutes after a weather-related outage cut power to the local area, but once things got going, there was more than enough electricity for everyone in Watson. Maine Hockey Journal calls it a “game for the ages.”

Women’s Basketball: The Colby College Women’s Basketball Team took a ten point lead at halftime, and held on for a 75-64 win to beat Bowdoin in the NESCAC Semifinals at Amherst on Saturday.

Women’s Ice Hockey: The Bowdoin College Women’s Ice Hockey Team scored three goals in the third period to stun Williams, 4-2, in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon. The fifth-seeded Polar Bears (12-11-2) avenge last weekend’s regular season finale loss to the fourth-seeded Ephs and return to the NESCAC Semifinals for the first time since 2007.

Senior captain Shana Natelson spoke with Bowdoin Sports Information Director Jim Caton after the game.

Men’s Swimming: The Bowdoin College Men’s Swimming and Diving Team shattered seven school records in a prolific opening to the NESCAC Championship Friday at Williams College.

Women’s Squash: The Women’s Squash team defeated Georgetown Univeristy by a score of 6 to 3. See the game stats.
