Emmy Award-winning actor James Gandolfini, perhaps best known for his role as mob boss Tony Soprano in the HBO series The Sopranos, died Wednesday while traveling in Rome from what may have been a heart attack; he was 51. In its first season, the show wove Bowdoin into an ongoing storyline that dealt with daughter Meadow Soprano’s search for the perfect college.
