Chaos Theory, Bowdoin’s women’s Ultimate Frisbee team, was flying high over the weekend, taking the championship title in the Uprising tournament held in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. During weekend play, the team faced opponents from Smith, Stony Brook, Princeton, Wellesley and SUNY-Geneseo, going 7-0 and outscoring their competitors 91-14. “Uprising was a great start to our season and brought us a lot of momentum that we’re hoping to carry with us,” says team co-captain Phoebe Aron ’13. “We only have five returning players, the rest are new to the really competitive tournaments we see in the spring,” says co-captain Julie Bender ’13. “This is an encouraging start to our season, and it was especially exciting to see how much the younger players stepped up.”
Looking ahead, the team has a tournament in Savannah, Ga., over spring break, as well as two regional tournaments, and another in New Jersey.f Having placed seventh at Nationals last year, the team is hoping to be among the top New England region teams to compete in Milwaukee in May.
