Three Polar Bear fall sports teams have earned bids to NCAA Championship Tournaments.
The field hockey team has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament and will host a first round game at 4 p.m. Wednesday against SUNY New Paltz. It will be the eighth NCAA trip in the last nine years for the Polar Bears, who have won three of the last five national titles.
The women’s volleyball team also earned an at-large bid to the Division III Championship and will travel to New London, Conn., for a regional this weekend. The Polar Bears will battle Emerson in a first round match at 12:30 p.m. Friday. It is the second-straight bid to nationals for the women’s volleyball team.
The women’s soccer team will make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007 as they earned an at-large selection to the field. The Polar Bears will travel to a regional at Ithaca College this weekend where they will face Scranton in the opening round at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Under the direction of first-year head coach Brianne Weaver, the Polar Bears will be making just their second NCAA appearance in the last 10 years.
